Can This Be True?
Farm tragedy turns to carnival comedy in this feature length documentary, which tells the outlandish (yet true) story of Mike the Headless Chicken.
In 1945 Mike cleverly avoided becoming an entree following a misguided swing of an axe. Instead, this plucky chicken survived 18 months — without his head!
Laugh Your Head Off!
Featured in Life magazine and Ripley’s Believe It or Not, Miracle Mike continues to inspire, appall, and amuse people around the world — most notably during the annual Mike the Headless Chicken Days in Fruita, Colorado.
Not a Cartoon!
A full length motion picture, shot in an artistic retro style, Chick Flick is suitable for the entire family. See for yourself this bizarre story of a real-life miracle come home to roost in Small Town America. It is a hilarious tale of dedication and triumph — an inspiration for all who view it.
The movie contains material made exclusively available by the family who actually owned Miracle Mike — your friends won’t believe their eyes!
DVD extras include songs, trailers, and behind-the-scenes shots.
After playing exclusively on the international film festival circuit for the last few years, Chick Flick is finally available to the public.
It was an official selection of the PiFan Film Festival in South Korea; the Fantastisk Film Festival in Lund, Sweden; and the Starz Denver International Film Festival — a four-time sellout in Denver!
And Mike has his very own festival. Every year for two days during the month of May, the people of beautiful Fruita, Colorado turn out to celebrate everything “Mike”. Events include a chicken dance contest, a 5k “Run Like a Chicken” race, a chicken recipe contest, great music, food and craft vendors and a variety of acts and entertainment. Attending this family fun event is a NO BRAINER.
